Big Bend Country-
Big Bend Country

western Texas.

attraction in
the region is
Big Bend
National Park

diverse region

region is a
nearly level,
slowly drained
plain less than
150 feet in
elevation,
dissected by
streams and
rivers flowing
into the Gulf of
Mexico. This
region offers
some excellent
recreation
attractions,
most of them
centered around
the waters of

Hill Country-
The Hill Country
region is
located in
central Texas.
Because of its
hilly scenery,
this is one of
the more popular
areas in Texas
for outdoor
recreation.
Panhandle
Plains- This
region
encompasses the
Texas Panhandle
and much of
northern Texas.
This region
makes up the
southern end of
the Great Plains
of the central

region covers
northeast Texas.
Pineywoods
topography is
gently rolling
to hilly
forested land.
This region
includes almost
all the National
Forest land in

Prairies &
Lakes- The
Prairies and
Lakes region
covers a large
portion of
northeast and
central Texas,
including the
Dallas/Fort
Worth area. This
region features
numerous large
lakes and more
state parks than
any other region
in the state. |

South Texas
Plains- The
South Texas
Plains region
covers a large
portion of south
Texas,
stretching from
the San Antonio
area, south to
Laredo and the
Rio Grande River. This
region offers
numerous state
parks, lakes and
historic sites
which offer
numerous outdoor
recreation
