- Basketball: The city's National Basketball
Association franchise, the
San Antonio Spurs (1999 NBA Champions) have a fanatic, loyal
following during its season, which runs October through April.
Games are played in the
SBC Center.

- Baseball and Softball:
San Antonio
Missions baseball games are played April through August, and
home games are played at the Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Baseball
Stadium, Highway 90 and Callaghan Road. For amateur softball
leagues throughout the city, call the San Antonio Parks and
Recreation Department at (210) 821-3110.
- Football: The SYLVANIA
Alamo Bowl matches
choice teams from the Big 10 Conference and the Big 12
Conference. This year's game is scheduled for December 29,

- Golf: The Westin Texas Open at La Cantera is the
oldest golf tournament in Texas and is part of the PGA Tour. The
Tournament is played each fall at La Cantera Golf Club. For PGA

year's
Valero Texas Open will be played September 22-28, 2003. For
amateur golfers, San Antonio has many fine public and private

Iguanas offer exciting hockey action right here in the River
City.
