Frommer's Review
One of San Antonio's more recent River Walk conversions, the one-time
Petroleum Commerce Building is now a comfortable modern lodging. The
polished marble floors and chandeliers in the lobby and the high ceilings
and ornate window treatments in the guest rooms hearken back to a grander
era, also evoked in business-traveler perks such as free hot breakfasts,
free evening cocktails and snacks, free local phone calls, and 1 hour of
free long distance per day. Guests also appreciate the on-premises Texas
Land & Cattle Co. steakhouse, located on the River Walk level -- it's a
reasonably priced place to schmooze clients -- as well as the 24-hour
business center. Anyone who wants to economize on meals will also like the
fact that many of these attractive Southwest-style rooms are equipped with
refrigerators and microwaves.
